I love these plants! They are so intricate and graceful. Hummingbirds just love them and when a warm breeze touches them it looks like it's performing a graceful ballet. Unless it lives at my house then they end up losing blossoms and leaves and eventually turn into hanging baskets of dirt and sticks.

Has anyone had any success with these plants?

I grow two every year on my front porch. What ya wanna know? What works for me. I can only grow them on my front porch. It faces North, so I think its the fact they are in shade most of the day. They do get morning and evening sun. They do get some wind. Ok lots of wind. I have had to put them on swivels or the baskets just twist up. Actually broke some pots from the twisting before I got the swivels. Most important to keep them happy is water, water, water. They dry out so fast. Which is when you get leaf drop. Since I water so much I also fertilize more often. I use liquid drops, can look if you want to know what kind. I only do half strength probably every other week. Side note another great hummingbird attracting hanging basket is a Torenia (wishbone flower) my hummers love them blue seems to have more nectar than purple. I also grow two of these every year also. Hope that helps.

It certainly does help! We tried hanging them from our front porch that has a Southern exposure so I know that I was dehydrating the poor babies. If we try again, I'm thinking that they might do well at the end of the porch that doesn't get sun all day with loads of water.

Thank you so much!
