Ok so your back is killing you. The hubby or significant other is busy or isn't in the mood for a really good back massage. By yourself a pool noodle! Those long foam things the kids play with in the pool. Cut it the length of your spine and sit on a hard backed chair. Place the new back massager along the length of your spine and just roll from side to side. sigh. One of the best back and spine massages you will ever get. I have facet degeneration of the lower disks and lesser bones. This will put my back at ease, for awhile anyway. The cheepest thearpy you will find. :D

That's a great idea! No one here is ever in the mood to give massages but they certainly are more than willing to receive them. Isn't that typical?

Not only is your dear hubby wanting a back rub in return...but there are usually "strings" attached to your back rub, if you know what I mean! Darn it! ALL I WANT IS A SIMPLE BACK RUB! :q5:

Anzie, I'm going to the store this morning to get a couple of the pool noodles so that I can cut them up and share with other friends who have back pain. Thanks for such a cool idea! I'll let you know how it works!

But don't you find that even if you had your eyes crossed and were drooling they would take it as a "hey baby" signal? lol

Anzie, I GOT MY NOODLE, :q4: I GOT MY NOODLE! :q4: (Lime green, no less, sort of like those 'ol tomato worms! Ha!) This noodle is now my new best friend! No more rolling towels for me....ever! The noodle is so easy to use, stays in place, and doesn't mash down and get lumpy like a towel does. It is great for the "no strings attached" back massage, and right now I have it crossways down at my lower back while I'm here at the computer. I'm putting a shorter piece in the car to have for driving. I think my DH is going to get jealous of my new NOODLE! :q22:

Way to go!---Good suggestion! I'm helping Lorraine cook on Thurs. and Fri. for a Sat. wedding, so I'll take her one since her back hurts a lot, too. Thanks so much for sharing that great idea!

Oh, don't worry...MY noodle will not be out of my sight for a minute! I've used it all afternoon and tonight, and am real pleased with it. Heck, I can even run a string through it and tie it around my waist so that it will be permanently attached! LOL! Maybe I'll start a new fad, and get the kids around here with the droopy drawers to tie their pants up by using a NOODLE! :q21: (It's been a long day...bear with me!)
My DH is in Florida this week, and he got so tickled at me on the phone, trying to describe my NOODLE and how it works! :q27:

Thanks again for your help! You are certainly a :angel13:

Not sure about the angel part but I"m glad it's working for you. :q3: I love to pass on tips to people, especially if they are inexpensive things. I know a lumbar roll at the drug store here runs about 40 bucks. The "noodle" is about 10 and I can get a good four rolls out of em. In my proffession we improvise alot. Many of my patients can't afford the "real" stuff so imagination goes a long way. lol :q5:

Heck, I got my noodle at the Dollar Store for $1.50, so that's why I bought several to share with friends. (Of course , with gas prices, :q6: it probably cost me $5.00 to go there and back! lol!) I LOVE the Dollar Store--the sudsy ammonia I use to neutralize the patina on stained glass is only $1 for a huge bottle. I pour it into a spray bottle & away I go!

Hey, Anzie! ...just have to check in with you to let you know that pool noodles are now 75 cents each on "summer sale"! :q3: I have given so many pieces away that I had to go buy some more, including another one for ME! I just keep a stash of the "cut up" pieces on hand. Lorraine, my catering buddy, said to tell you that the noodle was a life saver to her on a recent trip she took to Edmonton, Canada. She used it on the plane and in the car the entire time...said to tell you "Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!" And she did pass on the info to curious people who saw her with that lime green noodle! :q5:
Thanks again for such a great idea!

Lea
